This blog documents my playful but also serious exploration of how the interaction between our senses can be applied in moving image, to communicate multi-sensory impressions via audio-visual means. From Futurism and Surrealism to the latest research into cross modal communication as conducted by Professor Charles Spence (Cross modal research laboratory, Oxford), this is a continuation of my PhD research into tactility, now expanded to included smell and taste, with particular focus on food and the ritual of eating.
I am an artist working in the medium of moving image and performance. I am a research coordinator at the Royal College of Art, animation department and also a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster. I founded Sensory Sites (an informal network of artists interested in exploration of our sensory engagement with the world). I hold a PhD from the Royal College of Art. A link to my PhD can be found HERE.
